Mario's Galactic Adventure Preview Is Here, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. This occurred during a dedicated Nintendo presentation that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.
Following up on the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will send Mario to the far corners of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
An Interstellar Journey Drawing from Iconic Releases
Much like the Wii-era games that serve as its inspiration, Mario will depart from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. Throughout his extensive trek, he will encounter once more some familiar faces, including the Luma, a popular character from the previous film.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The movie will welcome back of the initial voice actors, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.

The upcoming Mario film is set to release close to the 40th anniversary of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his allies.
Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for 2026, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
